Our Impact Report 2020-2021

This month, we launch our annual Impact Report which covers April 2020 to April 2021. The report focuses on key achievements and big projects which have launched throughout the year that support our volunteer community, and our commitment to #KeepThePromise to Scotland’s children, young people and their families.

The last year has been unprecedented, and at Children’s Hearings Scotland we have adapted quickly to changing circumstances to ensure that we can continue to deliver children’s hearings across Scotland. During this period, we have transformed the way we work through the use of new technologies, working with our partners to roll out online children’s hearings, and looking at ways to continually improve everyone’s experience of these. We also launched our first, fully digital recruitment campaign which involved people with lived experience in the recruitment process to ensure that we recruit the right people to the role of Panel Member.

Children’s Hearings Scotland’s Chief Executive and National Convener, Elliot Jackson, said, “This year’s Impact Report highlights some of the work we have undertaken throughout the year to support our volunteer community, and progress our vision of a forward looking children’s hearings system.

“As we move into 2022, this will remain our guiding priority as we continue to collaborate with our partners to make change within the hearings system. I want to thank everyone who has had a role in and made a contribution to the work of Children’s Hearings Scotland over the last year.”

We’ve created a short animation with some key highlights from our Impact Report which you can find here.
